Rarity & Significance
Highly significant as the first Marine character in the G.I. Joe 'A Real American Hero' line. While common in production numbers, finding a specimen with a pristine chest tattoo and tight joints is desirable for collectors. It represents the transition period where Hasbro added bicep swivels to increase playability.
Special Features
Original figure came with a XM-76 grenade launcher and a green Marine cover (hat). The figure features the iconic blue eagle, globe, and anchor tattoo on the chest.
Notable Variations
There is a 'Straight-Arm' version from early 1983 which is rarer but lacks the bicep articulation. Differences in the shade of the tan plastic and the darkness of the camo paint on the legs exist between Hong Kong and China manufacturing runs.
